Development Log - January 10th

I dedicated a substantial amount of time and effort to a comprehensive overhaul of the map system. It has been a challenging journey, but I am excited to unveil the results – dynamic scenes with different time periods (morning, afternoon, evening, midnight). Please watch the video to witness its impressive performance.

When designing the map system, I deliberately opted for a cartoon-style aesthetic instead of a fully realistic 3D scene. This decision is rooted in the system's primary purpose as a navigational tool to assist players in moving between different areas. The goal is to provide users with a comfortable visual experience while navigating through various regions, creating a relaxed atmosphere without overshadowing the core aspects of the storyline and characters that players truly want to engage with.

talking about map and navigation. i have always found it difficult to get around the main house.  clicking the foot steps to go from room to room feels off.  if there was a blueprint top down minimap of the house in the corner that you could click on individual rooms to go from room to room it would feel better for me.  or something similar.  or if teleporting from place to place messes with the vibe maybe moving could be handled through arrow key or w a s d ?
